Insights from a CS for Climate Action Teaching Studio

This winter, 5th grade teachers from three elementary schools in San Diego Unified joined forces to collaborate on a Computer Science for Climate Action Teaching Studio. Funded by the California Subject Matter Project and the SoCal Heat Hub at UC San Diego, this pilot program aimed to integrate micro:bits into a lesson on surface temperatures to explore climate impacts. Through planning, teaching, reflecting, and refining their lesson, these educators enhanced student engagement and learning.
