At CREATE, we pledge to do our part to protect all young people in the care of our schools and university. Schools are still legally bound to educate undocumented children: by law, every young person in the public K12 schools we serve must be able to access education opportunity, regardless of immigration status. As representatives of higher education in California, further, we support the statements of distress and outrage released today by our University President and UC San Diego’s Chancellor.

DACA recipients and their families contribute to our schools, universities, communities, region, and daily lives. We stand in solidarity with them and with all families and young people seeking better lives, safety, and opportunity. We will continue to participate in sharing resources and information, here and via Facebook (see Director Mica Pollock’s resource-sharing page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/schooltalking/).
